WHAT ARE THE PROS AND CONS OF FLIPPING MY CLASSROOM?

CONS
"Flipped Classrooms have to be about more than students watching YouTube lectures at home.  Bad instruction is bad instruction whether it's flipped or not."

Teachers still need to do pre-assessment of student knowledge prior to the lecture/video --- if not
- Some of the material will be worthless to students who already know it.
- Some of the material will be so far above where other students are that it is not going to be understood by these students no matter how many times they watch the videos.
- If a student doesn't get it the first time, they will most likely not get it the 2nd, 5th, or 15th time.  They need the background knowledge or vocabulary.
- No amount of repeat viewing will fill in the gap to allow comprehension.
